What Size Bin Do I Need?

The 30-second answer

If your job feels like 3 pickup truck loads or fewer, get the 10-yard. If it feels like more — or includes roofing, full-room demos, or contractor debris — get the 15-yard. When in doubt, size up: paying $50 extra is cheaper than paying for a second bin.

10-Yard Bin — when it's the right call

The 10-yard is a 7′ × 11′ × 3.8′ box. Visually, picture three full pickup truck loads stacked into one bin. It fits comfortably on a single-car driveway with room to walk around it.

• Single-room renovation (kitchen, bathroom, basement)
• Garage cleanout — even a heavily packed one
• Basement clear-out without major demo
• Yard waste, deck boards, sod, branches
• Move-out junk from a 2-3 bedroom home
• Estate cleanout where the heavy lifting is already done

Skip the 10-yard if: you're tearing off a roof, doing a multi-room demo, or hauling concrete or fill. The weight will cap you out before the volume does.

15-Yard Bin — when it's worth the upgrade

The 15-yard is 8′ × 12′ × 4.3′. Bigger walls, much more volume — call it 4.5 truck loads. Still fits most driveways, just leaves less wiggle room.

• Roofing tear-off (call us — shingles are quoted separately)
• Full basement demo or finish
• Multi-room renovation (kitchen + bathroom, or whole-floor)
• Contractor or small-build job site
• Major estate cleanout — full-house clear-out
• Hot tub, shed, or outbuilding tear-down

Worth knowing: the price difference between 10-yard and 15-yard is $50. If you're on the fence, that's almost always cheaper than booking a second drop.

A few sizing mistakes we see

Underestimating renovation debris

Drywall and trim look like nothing piled up — until it's all stacked in a bin. A single bathroom gut takes more space than people expect. If you're tearing out tile, double your guess.

Overestimating "stuff"

Boxes of clothes, books, and old furniture compress a lot. A garage that looks insurmountable usually comes in at half a 10-yard. Don't upsize just because the pile looks intimidating.

Forgetting about heavy materials

Concrete, brick, fill, and shingles are priced separately because of weight — not volume. Mention them when you book and we'll sort the right bin and the right quote in one call.
